JACKSON ALLAN: A DOG WHO LOVED HIKING
IN MEMORY OF A LOVED SCHNOODLE
MY JACKSON ALLAN. YOU ARE NOT WITH US PHYSICALLY, BUT, YOU ARE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS. LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again.
There is only one thing missing,
they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up!
The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him in your arms and hug him.
He licks and kisses your face again and again -
and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.

FORT SNELLING STATE PARK
Join us as we honor Jackson Allan's passion of Hiking! We will explore Fort Snelling State Park in St Paul Minnesota! Hiking The North will take you through a guided 3 mile hike on the Pike Island Trail. This is a flat, gravel trail on Pike Island that will lead you past views of the Minnesota and Mississippi river. Look for beavers, herons, egrets and river otters along the shoreline. This journey will start at 10am with a social meet and greet, and it will end at 12pm. Please be on time. Please bring water for yourself and your pets, lunch/snacks, and a backpack. Dress appropriately for the weather. Below are some guidelines in what to bring with you on your day trip!
ABOUT THE PARK
The Mississippi and Minnesota rivers have been shaping this area for thousands of years. After the last glaciers retreated, Glacial Lake Agassiz drained its massive basin in western Minnesota. Its meltwater carved the expansive Minnesota River Valley on its way to meet the Mississippi River. Fort Snelling State Park, established in 1961, contains the confluence of these two great rivers. Despite the threat of annual floods, the confluence has been, and continues to be, an important meeting point for a variety of communities. Nestled in the shadow of city freeways and airport airways, the park offers you unique opportunities to explore the outdoors through trails, picnic sites, a beach, fishing opportunities and more.
